Meet the JCC Aquatics Staff
Daniel Servelli, Director of Aquatics/Swim Team Manager
Interests: 4 year collegiate NCAA division 2 athlete, swimming and healthy living.
Strengths: 12 years of experience working in aquatics, strong customer service background
Certifications: CPO certified, BA in communications, MBA graduate, Lifeguard, CPR, AED, Certified , USA Swimming Coach, USA Swimming Foundations of Coaching 101, and American Red Cross Coach Safety Training Certified.
Andrey Seryy, Swim Instructor/Head USA Swim Team Coach
Interests: Financial markets, lifting, nutrition
Strengths: 20 years of competitive swimming experience, former Russian national swimming team member, European junior champion, Russian national champion 2012, 2009, 2006, 6-time NCAA division II national champion and record holder, 14 time All-American, NCAA swimmer of the year 2011.
Mikhail Iogman, Head Swim Instructor
Interests: Year-round kayaking, camping tour guide, yoga, cross-country skiing
Strengths: Mikhail has taught swimming for 18 years to more than 3,500 swimmers, children and adults. He is goal-oriented, results driven, and uses his knowledge of psychology to encourage pride and self-trust in new and/or developing swimmers.
Certifications: USA Swimming Coach, USA Swimming Foundations of Coaching 101, and American Red Cross Coach Safety Training Certified.
Sharon Colucci, Swim Instructor
Interests: Spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, who share her passion for swimming.
Strengths: Sharon has been involved in aquatics for over 50 years, 20 of which have been spent at our JCC. She offers a gentle, fun and educational environment to teach swimmers of all abilities and comfort levels.
Gabi Field, Swim Instructor
Interests: Running, swimming, spending time with her kids
Strengths: As a mother and long-time JCC member who has taken advantage of our aquatics programs, she believes in building strong ties between babies/children and the water. By sharing the benefits of an early introduction to swimming, Gabi is able to help children foster a love for swimming from an early age.
Nicolas Mancheno, Swim Instructor
Interests: Soccer, swimming, tennis
Strengths: Nicolas has been teaching kids for several years; in that time Nicolas has found much success as an instructor and has been instrumental in laying the foundation for numerous swimmers throughout Fairfield County.
Certifications: Lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and AED certified. Nicolas is currently studying graphic design at NCC.
Alex Tkachuk, Swim Instructor
Interests: Triathlons, healthy living (both physically and mentally)
Strengths: Alex prides himself on his ability to tailor lessons to individual personalities and ability levels, in an effort to ensure results in a timely manner. His personal interests transfer to his teaching methods by focusing on physical endurance inside and outside of the water.
Certifications: Alex is an AAAI/ISMA, AFFA certified personal trainer and ASCA and USA Swimming coach. He has his certification as a TRX and BODYPUMP instructor and is a JCC group fitness instructor. USA Swimming Foundations of Coaching 101, and American Red Cross Coach Safety Training Certified.
Keren Gershon, Swim Instructor
Interests: Swimming, running, yoga and martial arts
Strengths: Growing up involved in the JCC swimming community, Keren began teaching at age 15. Upon graduating college, she was inspired to follow her passion and turn swim instruction and personal training into a career. Keren loves working with both kids and adults. She especially enjoys working with individuals who are fearful of the water.
Certifications: NASM personal trainer, AFAA personal trainer, RYT 200 Hour Yoga Certification, Crossfit level 1.
