Spring and Summer 2018 Holiday Hours

 

Regular Building Hours (September 5 through May 26)

Mondays – Thursdays: 5:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Fridays: 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays: 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sundays: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Administrative offices close at 4 p.m. on Fridays and are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

 

Summer Building Hours (May 27 through September 4)

Mondays – Thursdays: 5:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Fridays: 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sundays: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Administrative offices close at 4 p.m. on Fridays and are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. 

 

Holiday Hours

Shabbat and the Jewish Holidays
The Stamford JCC fosters an inclusive Jewish environment that helps build community and allows for people to find multiple paths for connection within our Jewish community. We welcome diversity of belief, practice, and observance while recognizing shared common values that are integral to Judaism. We encourage the use of the JCC as a special place for families to be together. In that spirit, the JCC observes the following Shabbat (Sabbath) hours and Jewish holiday closings:

Shabbat
The JCC is open on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Jewish Holidays
The JCC is closed to all business on the following holidays, regardless of the day of the week on which they fall:
• Erev Rosh Hashanah Early closing at 4 p.m.
• Rosh Hashanah – First Day Closed all day
• Rosh Hashanah – Second Day Closed all day
• Erev Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre) Early closing at 4 p.m.
• Yom Kippur Closed all day
• Erev Passover (First Seder) Early closing at 4 p.m.

The JCC is open on the following Jewish holidays:
• Sukkot
• Intermediate Days of Sukkot
• Shemini Atzeret
• Simchat Torah
• Passover
• Intermediate Days of Passover
• Shavuot

No business involving the exchange of money will be conducted on Shabbat or Jewish holidays. Regular JCC enrichment classes will not be scheduled or conducted on Saturdays or Jewish holidays so as not to exclude those individuals who could not participate. Additionally the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School will remain closed on all Jewish holidays.

Personal training, private swim instruction and group exercise classes may be available; however, financial arrangements for those activities will need to have been made prior to the start of Shabbat or the holiday. As a service to those families who depend upon them, the JCC's KinderPlace and KidsPlace child care programs will be open.

Independence Day | Wednesday, July 4
JCC fitness center, gym & pool open 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. JCC administrative offices closed.

Holiday Hours 2018/19
Labor Day | Monday, September 3
Pool, fitness center and gym open 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Administrative offices closed.

Erev Rosh Hashanah | Sunday, September 9 
JCC closes at 4 p.m.

Rosh Hashanah | Monday, September 10 & Tuesday, September 11
JCC closed.

Erev Yom Kippur | Tuesday, September 18
JCC closes at 4 p.m.

Yom Kippur | Wednesday, September 19
JCC closed.

Erev Sukkot | Sunday, September 23
JCC open regular hours. After 4 p.m. casual use only.*

Sukkot | Monday, September 24 & Tuesday, September 25
Open for casual use.*

Hoshana Rabbah | Sunday, September 30
JCC open regular hours. After 4 p.m. casual use only.*

Hoshana Rabbah | Monday, October 1 & Tuesday, October 2
Open for casual use.*

The JCC will be open for casual use* on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day from 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

 

*Casual Use
Regular enrichment classes are not scheduled on Jewish holidays so as not to exclude those individuals who cannot participate.
Private swimming lessons, drop-in group fitness classes and personal training will run on their regular schedules, however no business involving the exchange of money will be conducted on Jewish holidays, so be sure to pre-purchase your classes as necessary.

 

Closings due to inclement weather
The JCC will make every effort to stay open throughout the winter. In case of extremely inclement weather, closings will be posted on Cablevision News12, and on our website. Click here to see our complete policy on snow closings.
