Advanced Style

Ari Seth Cohen is a ground-breaking photojournalist whose “Advanced Style” blog, book and soon-to-be-released documentary film, capture the unique fashion flair and personal style of seniors in and around New York City. The glamorous ladies and gentlemen featured in this year’s Jewish Arts & Film Festival photo exhibit have something to teach people of all ages about living life to the fullest, and offer proof positive that strength, vitality and joyful spirit never go out of style.

You can help the JCC and POSH bring strength, vitality and joyful spirit to the Senior Adults who make the JCC their second home, as this year the Jewish Arts & Film Festival teams up with POSH for an entertaining evening of high style for men and women.

During the wine and cheese reception, enjoy the opening of Mr. Cohen’s exhibit, “Advanced Style.”

Following the reception, Mr. Cohen and two of his featured models will join us for a special presentation. We are also delighted to present a fashion show with clothes by Chico’s modeled by community members, and hair by Salon Wayne.

Autographed copies of Mr. Cohen’s book will be for sale. The photo exhibit will run through November at the JCC.

This event is presented in partnership with POSH and the 12th Annual Jewish Arts & Film Festival of Fairfield County.

The Jewish Community Center relies on POSH (Providers of Senior Happiness) to raise as much as half of the $100,000 needed annually to pay for a wide range of quality services and programs for senior adults. In addition to supporting day-to-day services, funds raised by POSH have been used to fill the sizeable gap in our budget for the JCC’s senior nutrition program, the only hot kosher lunch program in the area. At this year’s POSH fundraiser, the focus will be on purchasing a new handicap-accessible bus that will make it possible for seniors to travel to and from the JCC every day. We hope that you will support this year’s POSH event by giving generously.
