JCC Sara Walker Nursery School Parents' Association

Welcome to the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School's Parents' Association (PA). The PA is an integral part of the school. The Parents' Association works closely with Anne Liss Johnson and Cindy Schacht to help support and enhance our children's experiences and strengthen our community. Throughout the year the PA runs enriching events and programs which include:

Events: Meet & Greet, Class Coffees, Fall Festival, Parent Nights, Food Drive, Toy Drive and Gift Wrapping Party, Green Week, Star Night, Spring Fling.

Programs: Library, Challah, Shabbat & Havdalah bags, Newsletter, Class Parents, 4's Moving Up Book, Buddy Program, School Clothing.

The Parents' Association also raises funds in various ways to supplement school programming and materials beyond what the budget allows. In the past few years, the generous support from the school community has allowed us to:

• build and continue to maintain a state-of-the-art playground for the 3's and 4's
• update the 2's playground
• contribute $40K towards the construction of the JCC Boundless Playground
• buy new technology, play kitchens, and books for the classrooms
• purchase materials to enhance the school's Judaic Programming
• completely revamp the school's library

Library 

Read to 3's and 4's classes and assist them in borrowing books from the lending library.

Challah Program

Every Friday your child can bring home Challah for Shabbat. Click here to download the sign-up form.

Shabbat/Havdalah Bags

Every week one child from each 3's and 4's class will bring home wonderful supplies so the whole family can celebrate Shabbat!

Class Parents

This is a great way to get more involved in your child's nursery school experience. In this role, you will be the parent liaison between your child's classroom, the administration and the Parents' Association. You will also be the "parent coordinator" within your classroom.

It's a lot of fun but requires a time commitment! You will be expected to volunteer at all classroom functions (i.e. Holiday Celebrations, Teddy Bear Hospital) as well as all school and Parents' Association Events (i.e. Fall Festival, Spring Fling, Grandparent's Day). In addition, you will be asked to recruit other parent volunteers within your classroom to help at these events. Click here to download more information.

Buddy Program

New parents to the school are introduced to a parent who has been in the school to serve as an experienced guide and to answer any questions.

4's Moving Up Book
The graduating class will receive a gift from the PA which will feature class photos and messages from friends and family.

 School Clothing
We have special school clothing available for purchase!

Membership

We depend on membership dues from all parents to help us support and enrich our children's preschool experience. You will receive a gift and free entry to Fall Festival when you sign up.

Volunteer
We can always use volunteers for setting up or planning events, running activities, reading to a child's class or contributing to a newsletter.
