The JCC wants to help make your Jewish Journey meaningful. From our Israeli Schlichut Program to classes and events, holiday celebrations and even our summer program, O-la-mi, we are committed to strengthening Jewish identity and creating a connection between Diaspora Jewry and the State of Israel. 

Speak up for Israel for Teens
Not sure what to say if someone bashes Israel? Learn the facts, ask the hard questions and know your answers. Israel gets a bad rap especially on college campuses. Join an elite group of high school juniors and seniors and learn from experts in the field - AIPAC, ADL, Jerusalem U and Stand With Us, how to respond and take action. Students enrolled will attend the AIPAC conference in March. Spaces are limited. Youth Adult R&R (Recreate & Relate)
High School and Young Adult
R&R is an active social program that meets during the academic year. We meet at the JCC to participate in activities together such as cooking, seeing theater performances, varied sports events, pool parties, volunteering, and much more, which are not only fun but also enhance team-building skills. The social groups provide youths with a structured and safe environment to develop their social skills and build relationships. The goal of R&R is learning to work together!

Music, Movement, and Yoga!
High School and Young Adult
This practice is fun and interactive! Through meditation, movement, and chants instructors provide techniques to work on improving concentration, mindfulness, self-control, and relieving anxiety, as well as improving hand-eye coordination and thoughtful breath. Classes are kept small in order to modify and accommodate any individual needs. Both parent and child will learn to align the mind and body.

ArtWorks: By Arts for Healing
High School and Young Adult
ArtWorks takes place in a small group setting designed to help artists of various ages and abilities express themselves through art. The class also helps improve communication skills (expressive and receptive), social interaction, enhance motor function, stimulate emotional development, and foster self-expression. Materials including paint, clay, collage, drawing pens, markers, pastels, and charcoal give group members a wide variety of choices for personal expression. The group leader is a professional artist and art therapist who brings original and unique ideas to encourage individual creative expression.

Classic Cooking
High School and Young Adult
Teens and Young Adults will collaborate on fun recipes while learning basic cooking skills and kitchen safety. After preparing food together they will sit down to enjoy the food they have prepared while conversing with one another with the support of the inclusion coordinator. Teen Fit
Ages 13 - 16
You keep your skin clean. You condition your hair. You’re eating right. You’re doing all you can to
look and feel great. But are you missing out on an important part of a healthier lifestyle? No matter what your age or shape, you should exercise daily. Not only does exercise tone your body so you can wear your favorite jeans, it strengthens your muscles, keeps your bones strong, and improves your skin. And there are more benefits of exercise – increased relaxation, better sleep and mood, strong immune function, and more. This class will make you stronger, faster, more powerful and make you feel better by performing high-energy functional movements that are natural and safe.

Junior Boxing Club
Ages 8 & up
Evander Holyfield began his boxing training when he was 8 years old and weighed 65 pounds. He went on to become an Olympic medalist and four-time world heavyweight champion. Your child may not become a heavyweight champion, but he or she can reap several benefits from the sport of boxing. Boxing will teach your child how to throw punches, including the jab, cross, hook and uppercut. Correct body mechanics needed to throw these techniques with the most speed and power will also be taught. Boxing offers children several psychological benefits, including improved confidence, self-discipline and determination.

Fitness Center Certification Course

This class is for all 13-year-olds who would like to use the JCC Fitness Center on their own. Etiquette, proper equipment usage, form, safety, and training guidelines will be covered. After completion of this class, teens will have unlimited access to the Fitness Center during non-peak hours. Swim Cap Policy
Everyone entering the pool must wear a swim cap. This rule applies to males & females of all ages who have hair, no matter how long.

 

Pre Swim Team Program

Junior Team
6 – 16 years
Learn competition-style swimming to become faster and more efficient in your strokes and turns. Testing is required for children new to the program. Children who are enrolled two days a week may qualify for Sunday sessions at no extra charge.

Twice a week is mandatory. Based on your child’s ability he or she may be able to join the senior team and travel to swim competitions.

JCC Stingrays Competitive Swim Team

The JCC will compete in two leagues: USA Swimming League and The New England JCC League. Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. Children must try out for the team, and must have the following prerequisites:
• Level 4 – Barracuda (stroke development)
• Pre-Swim Team Classes*

Private & Small Group Swim Lessons

Private lessons, alone or coupled with our group classes, are a great way to accelerate learning.These lessons offer a comfortable setting, so those new to the water can excel. Through an initial skills test, we can assess your child’s ability and plan lessons around his or her specific needs. Lessons are 30 minutes and are sold in packages of 10 lessons and 5 lessons.
