Grinspoon / JCC Association Day Camp Project
In 2012, O-la-mi at the Stamford JCC was one of ten Jewish summer programs selected to participate in the Grinspoon/JCC Association Day Camp Project, a national partnership between the JCC Association and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. More than 75,000 children and teens annually attend 135 JCC day camps across North America. For many of these children, this represents their first meaningful connection to Jewish life, and sets the foundation for future Jewish engagement. The Harold Grinspoon Foundation, best known for the PJ Library program and the Grinspoon Institute for Jewish Philanthropy, has joined JCC Association as a partner to maximize the effectiveness of JCC summer programs across the country. JCC Association is an umbrella organization for Jewish Community Centers across North America.
Jewish Experiential Leadership Institute
Anne Liss Johnson, managing director of the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School, was selected in 2012 to join the Jewish Experiential Leadership Institute, a new fellowship program for emerging JCC leaders, spearheaded by JCC Association and the Jewish Theological Seminary. It is a true honor for Anne, whose guiding hand has helped build our JCC Sara Walker Nursery School into one of the finest preschools in Stamford, to have been chosen to be part of this elite group of JCC professionals.
