Uncommon Art with Adriana Rostovsky
Adriana Rostovsky has exhibited her art internationally and is joining us at the JCC to share her passion for creativity, sustainability, and imagination with children from grades K to 6. Children will use out-of-the-ordinary, often repurposed materials, to express themselves through unique projects.

Theatre Stars
An introduction to theatre where students learn how to create characters, establish setting, and build a scene through improvisation and storytelling. Students will learn to tell a story through tableaux, pantomime and dialogue. Students will know the basics of theatre like stage directions, blocking dramatic structure and collaboration. Children will utilize props and costumes to create original scenes and stories, while exploring their own imaginations.

Jazz/Hip Hop Combo
Although predominately hip hop, this class combines the structured techniques of jazz with the free-form elements of hip hop, providing students with a solid foundation of dance terminology and movement. This is a high-energy class that will focus on isolation, intricate footwork, directional movement, jumps, leaps, the basics of turning, and more challenging choreography.

Youth Group Swim Instruction

Our youth swim classes are perfect for new swimmers and those looking to continue refining their swimming skills. The semester ends with a free swim competition. See class listings following all class descriptions.
Refund Policy
Due to high demand and limited spots for swim lessons, the JCC refund policy will be enforced strictly. Refunds, credits or make-up classes for unscheduled absences cannot be accommodated. For absences due to serious illness/injury (doctor’s note required) or absences known at least one week in advance, we will make every effort to schedule make-up classes. Placement in make-up classes is based on the schedule of comparable classes and their availability.

Level I – Angelfish (Introduction to Water Skills)
Helps participants feel comfortable in the water. This course is designed for the beginner. Children will learn to put their faces in the water, float, kick and get ready for more advanced skills.

Level II – Swordfish (Fundamental Aquatic Skills)
The course is designed to give participants success with fundamental skills, and helps the inexperienced swimmer learn beginning swim skills. Children who have taken a class before can join this one. For those who are just starting, this class is suitable as well.

Private Tutoring 1:1
A program specifically designed to give your child a sense of academic confidence and prepare him for the standardized testing that is so prevalent in today’s school environment. All of our tutors are qualified education professionals who, utilizing your child’s academic records, customize a curriculum that builds upon her strengths and addresses her weaknesses. Tutoring is available at the JCC or at your private residence.

Semi-private Tutoring 1:2
A unique program that utilizes collaboration to achieve academic success. Your child and a friend will work with our qualified education professional on academic and standardized test skills. The curriculum is differentiated to meet the needs of the students. This is a fun and affordable alternative to private tutoring. Students are grouped by grade level and areas of content they wish to master.

Small Group Tutoring 4 – 6 students
A program that caters to a specific age group and works to strengthen grade-level skills, while enriching and supplementing the basic school curriculum. Students are grouped according to grade level and the areas of content they wish to master. Small group tutoring is available only at the JCC.
