JTalks with Brian Kriftcher Coach "K"

Brian Kriftcher is a former President and long-time Board member of our Stamford JCC. He and his family have been among our community’s major philanthropists, including, among other things, having named the Stamford JCC’s “Legacy Gymnasium” in memory of Brian’s father, Noel, a long-time public high school and college educator. Professionally, Brian spent nearly twenty years on Wall Street, before retiring at the age of 40 to devote his full-time energies to his lifelong passions for teaching, coaching, and community work. Brian is the boys’ Varsity basketball head coach at Notre Dame-Fairfield High School; and is the Founder & President of Stamford Peace Youth Foundation which uses the game of basketball, formal academic support, and mentoring to positively influence more than 1,000 local area youth. Brian is also a long-time Board member and former Global Chairman of PeacePlayers International which, through basketball, bridges divides and develops leaders among children and communities in conflict globally. For his impact on young people through coaching, Brian was recently named a National finalist for Positive Coaching Alliance’s Double-Goal Coach® Award presented by TeamSnap.
