Inclusion at Day Camps@The J means welcoming all, regardless of age, faith, ethnicity, need or ability. This belief helps make us a strong and supportive community and upholds the Jewish — and universal — values of welcoming guests, kindness, respect, and communal responsibility. Individual differences are to be celebrated and can only further enrich the JCC community.

What is Hand in Hand?

Day Camps@The J’s Inclusion program, Hand in Hand, provides children the opportunity to participate in a typical summer camp environment in a supportive setting. We work with children of varying abilities to reach their fullest potential, both developmentally and inter-personally. With the facilitation of our amazing counselors, Hand in Hand campers have the ability to develop positive relationships, appropriate social interactions and communication with their peers. Interested prospective families will need to be accepted through a formal in-take and evaluation process.
