Step into the world of fairy tales – princesses, dancing animals, and magical spells – during this week-long summer dance and theater intensive curated for the preschool-aged child. Each week, students will learn about a different fairytale ballet, including the narrative, history, and music of the ballet. The dancers will take lessons in tap, ballet, and jazz dance, and will learn the basics of stage acting and pantomime.
In between dancing, the children will enjoy story time and craft time, where they will read books and make art related to the fairytale theme of the week. Every day will also include a snack and lunch break. At the conclusion of the week, dancers will put on a small performance to music from the fairytale ballet of the week. (Students who do not wish to purchase Tap shoes may rent them for a small fee, pending availability.)
