Early Learning Class Schedule

2 – 5 years (with parent)
It’s an advance class in our parent and me programs. This class focuses on weaning the parent out of the water and will prepare the child to work independently in a group lesson. Children are taught the final foundational skills that are the building blocks of swimming and will learn about water safety. Swim cap, swim diaper with bathing suit required. Recommendation from an instructor or an evaluation is required to register for the class.

Ages 3.5 – 5.5 years

Light Blue Swim Cap
Swimmers learn the basics of water comfort and safety as they blow bubbles while going under water, float, and flutter kick in prone and supine positions

Swim Cap Policy: Everyone entering the pool must wear a swim cap. This rule applies to males & females of all ages who have hair, no matter how long.

Ages 3.5 – 5.5 years
Royal Blue Swim Cap
For this class, children should be able to float (front and back) and put their heads under water. Swimmers continue working on floating, flutter kicks, and arm strokes. Students are introduced to retrieving objects.

Ages 4 – 5.5 years
Children should be able to swim without support for 10 yards and have efficient flutter kicks in this level. Rotary breathing, backstroke and diving, and are introduced as this class prepares children to enter or our pre-team program or more advanced swim school classes.

2 – 5 years (with parent)
This program is developed for children who have started moving independently in the water under their parents’ guidance. Parents and children learn more about water safety and swimming techniques. 6 months - 3.5 years (with parent)
Enjoy a unique bonding experience with your child. Children learn correct swimming movements while increasing muscle strength and coordination. This class lays the foundation for successful swimming in our early childhood swim program. Water safety topics will also be covered. Swim cap, swim diaper with bathing suit required.

3 – 4 years
Through songs, games and poems children will gain basic conversational Spanish as well as vocabulary for colors, numbers, foods and more.  This is a full Spanish immersion class.

Ages 3 – 10
Messy play is a key component to develop children’s fine and gross motor and coordination skills. Through the children’s 7 senses we will explore different ways to help them learn and grow. We will be creating and working with different textures and materials each week. Whether it’s making playdoh, calming bottles, or fun gooey slime, the children will have fun experiencing their 7 senses (taste, smell, sight, touch, hear, vestibular (balance), Proprioceptive (joint movements) in their own way.

Birth – Crawling
Join us for a group opportunity for your child to play on a mat, sing songs with them and enjoy some socialization both for your child and for the caregiver.

Mothers with a Newborn - 1 year old
Mothers and their little ones are invited to this six-week postpartum support group. Here, you’ll establish a community of moms where you can share your experiences and support one another in the early days of motherhood. All mothers are welcome, whether this is your first, second, or third child (or more!) – every postpartum experience is unique.

1– 2.5 (with parent or caregiver)
In this class, your child will get to explore the movement of their bodies with their adult. We will have fun doing some stretching in some yoga-style poses, getting to know where our body parts are, and working on balancing and coordination. We will also move our body in some dance games and tumbling exercises all to improve on our gross motor skills. (This class is recommended for children that are walking.)

Join us for a great Shabbat experience. Have your little ones sing and dance to our most popular Shabbat songs and get that Shabbat feeling all over.

This 45-minute class is a great opportunity for parents to guide their little ones through the exploration of materials perfectly suited to their innate interests. Join Miss Sarah as you get a story, song and then an art creation to take home each week. The children will also have the opportunity to have different sensory experiences both with the art materials and with the guidance of a caregiver. This class is geared for our youngest artists that need more adult support in nurturing their artistic development.

Fridays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.

Crawling – 30 Months, with caregiver
Balance, climb and slide around our fully padded, newly renovated, Kid Zone play space. Children should be crawling or walking while in our space. Our instructor will be on hand to assist toddlers and parents/caregivers with the equipment.

This class will explore 3D art through sculpture, collage, and installation art. This class is designed for play and exploration and will engage our little artists in a fun interactive way.

3 – 5 years
This class is designed to encourage literacy and narrative storytelling through art. Each class will start with a book from which the children will use the imagery and narrative to make their own picture. They will discuss ways in which the stories and pictures connect and partake in age-appropriate projects. Students will practice Fine Motor Skills, Listening and Following directions, creative skills and expanding their understanding through picture books.

1 – 2.5 years
In this class children and parents will explore dance movement together while getting an introduction to ballet terminology and preliminary ballet positions and steps. Using creative imagery, sing-along songs and classical music, dance props, and short choreographic combinations, you will watch your toddler transform into an inspired young dancer. Other skills practiced in this class: identifying body parts, musicality, level changes, balancing and movement coordination, shape formation, pathways, leading and following, creative expression. This is where gross-motor skills meet ballet technique! (This class is suggested for movers who are walking).

3 – 5 years
Our preschool Musical Theater Dance class is an exciting fusion of dance and acting, designed to inspire young children to explore both physical movement and creative expression. This class helps little ones build their confidence, imagination, coordination, and rhythm as they learn to express themselves through dance while embracing the world of acting. Dance is the central foundation of this class and acting is seamlessly integrated to elevate each routine. Children will not only learn steps, but also how to embody the characters in their dances, express different emotions, tell stories with their bodies, and use facial expressions and gestures to bring a scene or character to life.

There is no recital for this session; however, there will be an in-class demonstration on the last day of class.

Spark creativity this Summer with our variety of programs. Engage in dynamic dance classes, theater classes, arts & crafts, and more. Each program culminates in an exciting performance experience!

Fun is the single most important thing Blue Wave Kickers teaches! Let Coach Jonathan Bradley and his staff engage your child in physical activity while developing motor and basic soccer skills.

Multi-Sports Squirts allows children to experience a variety of sports throughout the program. Our professional coaches ensure that children are engaged in fun, inclusive activities, in a positive learning environment.
