In this series you will explore Jewish culture, values and history. Using art, poetry, music and stories, participants will encounter Judaism in a fun and inclusive way. In this open and welcoming environment for everyone regardless of their religious background, the Jewish learning will elevate participants’ knowledge, and mindfulness, and will give them the tools in which to work on their moral compass. Our goal is that participants will grow their knowledge about Judaism and bring tolerance and respect to their community.

Grades 2 – 5
Kabbalists believe that the divine realm interacts with the world through the ten sefirot. Each sefirah transmits a unique color, energy, and Hebrew words. Learn how to channel the sefirot into jewelry with an array of materials including zippers, metals, and shrinky dinks. In this workshop participants will learn more than just crafting, they will develop an understanding of kabbalistic energy sources, learn the art of crafting and have a great time with their peers. Take home jewelry for you and your family, or give it to a loved one as a gift!

Come jam out with us at the J! This 12-session series is perfect for your children to develop rhythm and technical musical skills while having a great time. Throughout the series participants will create rhythmic patterns with percussive instruments, learn how to play melodies and chords on the guitar, and find their musical voice while gaining focus, confidence and creativity. Ready to become the next best video game designer? Join us to learn coding concepts that will, in turn, help you build your own video game (using MIT Scratch and Roblox) that you then can publish for your friends to play. You will also develop logical and problem-solving capabilities by engaging in fun STEM activities. Each week you will continue to build upon your project from the previous week, culminating in coding your own video game. Krav Maga is an Israeli form of martial arts. Youth Krav Maga is a unique experience that imparts self-defense skills using fun exercises. Contemporary

Contemporary is a fusion of many different dance styles; it draws technique from Ballet, isolations and grooves from Hip-Hop, and improv-based movement from Modern. In this class, students will learn fundamental elements of dance, such as leaps, turns, grooves and floorwork. Improvisation exercises and choreographed combinations will allow students to practice and apply these foundational moves while they explore different ways of connecting rhythmically and emotionally to the music.

Calling all kids who love to jump, leap, and tumble! Preschool Acrobatics is an introductory-level class where students will learn safely the proper techniques of basic acro and tumbling! We begin each class with stretching and conditioning exercises to warm up and strengthen our muscles. For the remainder of class, students will use the balance beam, spring board, wedge mat, and other gymnastics equipment to help them acquire the technique and muscle memory required for all skills and tricks! Students will increase flexibility, balance, strength, technique and body awareness through the fundamentals of acrobatics.

Swim Assessment for New Swimmers 
For all children enrolling in a swim program for the first time, we strongly encourage you to bring your child for a free assessment. Swim Refund Policy
Due to high demand and limited spots for swim lessons, the JCC refund policy will be strictly enforced. Refunds, credits or make-up classes for unscheduled absences cannot be accommodated. For absences due to serious illness/injury (doctor’s note required) or absences known at least one week in advance, we will make every effort to schedule make-up classes. Placement in make-up classes is based on the schedule of comparable classes and their availability.

Swim Cap Policy
Everyone entering the pool must wear a swim cap. This rule applies to males & females of all ages who have hair, no matter how long.

Swim School at The J!
Grades K – 5 
Where children get a head start on swimming, gain confidence in the water and begin working on basic swimming skills, while interacting with an instructor and other children in a fun and safe environment. Through our comprehensive curriculum children will learn skills, build knowledge, gain confidence and feel safe in and around water. Using a step-by-step approach to learning, students will build proficiency as they successfully progress through levels that teach the four essential strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Most importantly, our curriculum is built in such a way that children will be excited to advance through each level. Every swimmer will receive a certificate in which he or she will be able to see the specific skills needed to progress to the next level. Swimmers will also be awarded a new color of swim cap as they progress through each level. Each semester ends with a free swim competition.

Pre-Swim-Team Program
4 – 10 years
Two days per week is mandatory. Prices listed for two days per week include a discount. Children enrolled two days a week are eligible for a 3rd practice, free of charge. Based on your child’s ability, he or she may be able to join the senior team and travel to swim competitions.

This program is for children who are relatively good swimmers for their ages. Students will explore competitive swimming and be encouraged to build endurance and competence. When ready, they will advance to Level 2. Twice a week is MANDATORY.

Learn competition-style swimming to become faster and more efficient in your strokes and turns. Testing is required for children new to the program. JCC Stingrays Competitive Swim Team IS AN OFFICIAL USA SWIM CLUB!
The JCC competes in the USA Swimming League. Practices will be held on Mondays through Thursdays at 7 p.m., and Fridays at 6 p.m. Children must try out for the team, and must have the following prerequisites:

• Level 4 – Barracuda (stroke development)

• Pre-Swim Team Classes*

JCC Stingrays Junior Competitive Swim Team is for those swimmers who want to begin participating on a swim team, but are not quite ready in skill or ability for Swim Team. Private & Small Group Swim Lessons
Private lessons, alone or coupled with our group classes, are a great way to accelerate learning. These lessons offer a comfortable setting, so those new to the water can excel. Through an initial skills test, we can assess your child’s ability and plan lessons around his or her specific needs. Lessons are 30 minutes and are sold in packages of 10 lessons and 5 lessons. Basketball Vacation Camp
Grades 2 - 8
The focus of our camps is on player skill and I.Q. development. We achieve this through high level coaching, individual player attention, and repetition. The Stamford J Basketball coaching staff includes local high school and AAU coaches and former college and professional players. Players will work on fundamentals including ball handling, passing, shooting, offense with and without the ball, defense & rebounding, and more. Each session will end in competitive games coached by the Stamford J Basketball coaching staff. Players should bring a snack and lunch. Aquatics Vacation Days
Grades K - 5
Aquatics Vacation Days will be centered around our comprehensive curriculum, where children will learn skills, build knowledge, gain confidence and feel safe in and around water. Using a step-by-step approach to learning, students will build proficiency as they progress successfully through levels that teach the four essential strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Children will have two 45-min swim sessions, do a craft, play water games, and have a lot of fun! Swimmers should bring their own snacks and lunch.
