Dear Stamford JCC Community,

 

 

The following policy change will take effect on Monday, Mar. 7:
• Mask-wearing will be optional for all JCC members and participants
At this time our JCC staff, teachers and vendors will continue to wear masks indoors.  

Reservations are encouraged for:
• Group Exercise Classes, including in-person, livestream* and virtual*
• Lap and Family Swim
• Pick-up Basketball and Members Only Pickleball*
• Racquetball
• Strongly suggested for usage of the Julius B. Kuriansky Fitness Center

Fitness Center Guidelines

  • • The Fitness Center is open to JCC members 14 years and older. 13-year-olds may use the fitness center after they have completed a fitness orientation. To schedule an orientation, contact Shari Ziegelman at sziegelman@stamfordjcc.org.
  • • Workout sessions will be limited to 45 minutes. 
  • • Reservations are encouraged and will ensure you have access to the fitness center. If the JCC cardio and strength room is at capacity, walk-ins will be placed on standby, with no guarantee of admittance.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

  • Lap Swimming Guidelines

• Reservations are encouraged and will assure access to a lane for lap swimming. Walk-ins will be placed on standby if The JCC pool is at capacity with no guarantee of admittance. 

• 2 people per lane.

• Please limit pool reservations to one per day. Sessions will be limited to 45 minutes.

• A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

• Everyone entering the pool must wear a swim cap. This rule applies to males & females of all ages who have hair, no matter how long.

 


 

Family Swim Reservations

  • • Reservations are encouraged and will assure access to a lane for swimming.  Walk-ins will be placed on standby if The JCC pool is at capacity with no guarantee of admittance.  
  • • Please limit pool reservations to one per day per family with a maximum of 4 immediate family members (must include one adult 18+). No guests and no multiple families per reservation. Sessions will be limited to 45 minutes.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.
  • • Everyone entering the pool must wear a swim cap. This rule applies to males & females of all ages who have hair, no matter how long.

 


 

Indoor Group Exercise Classes

• Indoor group exercise classes will be 45 minutes each. 

• Indoor group exercise classes are held in Studio A, Cycling Studio and the Legacy Gymnasium.

• There will be a maximum of 8-10 participants per class.

• A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

 


 

Outdoor Walking Path

• While programming is taking place on the softball field, please walk at your own risk.

 


 

Tennis Court Reservations

• Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening at the front desk. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow access to the courts.

• After your health screening, you will be given the key for the tennis court. Members are required to lock the court and return the key to the health screening tent at the end of their reservation.

• Reservations are encouraged and will assure access to the tennis courts. Walk-ins will be placed on standby if the tennis courts are at capacity with no guarantee of admittance.  

• Please limit tennis court reservations to one per day per family with a maximum of 4 immediate family members (must include one adult 16+). No guests and no multiple families per reservation. Sessions will be limited to 60 minutes.

• A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

 


 

Racquetball Court Reservations

• Singles games (reservation requires two names) and family reservations for up to 4 members of the same family above the age of 8 years.

• Players are required to bring their own equipment; gloves and eye protection are strongly recommended.

• Proper athletic shoes must be worn on courts.  No street shoes please.  

• Members are asked to limit reservations to one per day.

• Reservations are encouraged and will  guarantee your reservation unto 10  minute past start time. Walk ins will be placed on standby if both courts are reserved.

• A charge of $10 will be incurred for class no shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the class.

 


 

Upstairs Adult Locker Rooms

  • • Please leave the area clean to be considerate of other members, including the sinks and the showers. 
  • • The use of cell phones are discouraged for privacy reasons and taking photos in the locker room is forbidden.
  • • Make sure to place your personal items in your locker. The JCC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 
  • • The locker rooms will be closed daily from 1 - 2 p.m. for deep cleaning. 
  • • The Sauna and Steam Room are open for use by vaccinated members 16 years and up.
  • • Appropriate behavior in the locker room is a requirement for all members. Let us all strive to conduct ourselves in an orderly, courteous, dignified, and respectful manner.
  • • All JCC members age 13 - 16 must schedule a locker room orientation prior to their first visit to the locker room and fill out the Locker Room Code of Conduct Agreement. Please email sziegelman@stamfordjcc.org to schedule your orientation and to submit your waiver. 

 

Family Changing Room

  • • All downstairs locker rooms (formerly known as the family changing room and women's and men's locker rooms) will be used as Family Changing Rooms. All Individual Adults must use the upstairs locker rooms.
  • • Showers will be available in the lockers formerly known as the family changing room and men's locker room.
  • • Please leave the area clean to be considerate of other members, including the sinks and the showers. 
  • • The use of cell phones are discouraged for privacy reasons and taking photos in the locker room is forbidden.
  • • Face covering that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times for those 3 years and older.
  • • Please limit time spent in the locker room to 15 minutes.
  • • No more than 3 families in the locker room at any time.

  • Outdoor Playgrounds
    • Hours of Operation:
      Monday - Thursday: 6 - 8 p.m.
      Friday: CLOSED
      Saturday - Sunday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    • • The playgrounds are open to JCC members only.
      • For bathroom access, go to the health screening tent that is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into the building.
      • The JCC reserves the right to close the playgrounds for JCC programs or events.
    • • Please leave the playground clean and pick up trash before leaving.

 

Private Space Reservations

Reservations may be made on the JCC App for the Racquetball Courts. Please Note: Studio A may also be available, without reservation, when not in use by JCC programs.
Capacity: Racquetball Courts: 3 and Studio A: 4

• Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening prior to reservation.  The health screening tent is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into the building.

• All participants must complete a signed waiver or have one on file.

• Reservations are encouraged and are limited to one per day. Sessions will be limited to 60 minutes.

• If you prefer, you may bring your own mat.

• Please wipe all equipment after use. 

• Hand weights and tone boxes, equipped with therabands, resistance bands and loops may be borrowed from the fitness center staff.

 


 

Family Play Space (KidZone) Reservations
This indoor play environment is for families with children ages 7 and below. Reservations can be made for one family, who can then invite another member family to join them with a maximum of 6 people (including children and adults).

Saturdays • 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sundays • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

• You may arrive up to ten minutes before your reservation. The Health & Wellness entrance is to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into the building. Reservations may be lost if you are more than ten minutes late. The Family Play Space will be kept locked. The key will be given to you when you check-in. Please return the key to the JCC personnel working at the Health & Wellness entrance.

• Reservations are limited to one per day per family.

• Please leave the Family Play Space at the end of your reservation, to allow our staff to clean.

• A facemask that completely covers the nose and mask is required at all times, including children ages 3 and over.

• Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

• Please refrain from eating or drinking in the Family Play Space.

• Please use the changing tables in the locker rooms. There is no diaper changing allowed in the Family Play Space. 

• Please be safe and have fun.
