What do you need to know before coming to The J?

  • • The Stamford JCC will be open only to members in good standing. No guests will be permitted until further notice.
  • • The entrance to the Stamford JCC Center for Health and Wellness will be stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into the fitness center. The front entrance of The JCC will remain closed until further notice. PLEASE NOTE: The health screening tent for Sunday, June 14 - Tuesday, June 16 will be stationed to the left (as you enter the campus) of the building by the pond.
  • • All shower facilities will be closed until further notice. Locker room restrooms will be made available for use beginning in Phase 2A.
  • • Water fountains will be closed until further notice.
  • • Fitness Center towel service will be suspended at this time.
  • • If you are sick please stay home. Please do not come to The JCC if you are exhibiting any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, or the chills.
  • • Reservations through The JCC Mindbody App are encouraged and may be required for group exercise classes, cardio and strength floor access, and reservations for lap swimming. Reservations will open 3 days in advance and close 1 hour before the scheduled time. Walk-ins will be allowed access only if there is space available. Those with reservations will be assured entry. Due to social distancing guidelines, The JCC will have decreased capacity in all Health and Wellness programs.

  • • Face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth must be worn at all times, except when swimming laps in The JCC pool.
  • • All members, staff, vendors and participants must sign the Stamford JCC Participant Release & Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement. Access to programs and the facility will not be granted without a signed waiver. Prior to arriving to The JCC, please email completed waiver to membership@stamfordjcc.org.

PHASE 1: Outdoor Personal Training and Outdoor Group Exercise Classes (June 14 – June 28)

  • • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening prior to class. The health screening tent is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into programs and the fitness center. PLEASE NOTE: The health screening tent for Sunday, June 14 - Tuesday, June 16 will be stationed to the left (as you enter the campus) of the building by the pond.
  • • A facemask that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times.
  • • Please limit reservations to no more than one class per day.
  • • The JCC building will remain closed for Fitness users from June 14-June 16 with all programs located outdoors.
  • • Class attendees are encouraged to bring their own equipment, including bands and yoga mats. JCC equipment may be available but restricted during this phase.
  • • Please use the bathroom prior to coming to the JCC.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for class no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the class.
  • • Personal training sessions will be charged in full for late cancellations or no-shows.

 

PHASE 2A: Strength and Cardio Room Guidelines - Wednesday, June 17

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Thursday: 5:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: These hours of operation are subject to change.

  • • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening. The health screening tent is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into programs and the fitness center.
  • • The Fitness Center has been reconfigured to allow for social distancing, and some strength equipment has been moved to the gymnasium. PLEASE NOTE: Some equipment may be unavailable from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. during the camp day.
  • • A facemask that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times.
  • • Workout sessions will be limited to 45 minutes. Please limit fitness reservations to no more than one group fitness class or one fitness center workout per day.
  • • Reservations are encouraged and will ensure you have access to the fitness center. If the JCC cardio and strength room is at capacity, walk-ins will be placed on standby, with no guarantee of admittance. Last reservation taken Monday – Thursday will be at 8 p.m. and Friday – Sunday will be at 5 p.m.
  • • Please bring your own gym towel; gym towel service is suspended.
  • • Please bring your own water bottle; access to water fountains and lemon water are unavailable until further notice.
  • • Please limit the belongings you bring to The J; locker use may be restricted during this phase.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

 

PHASE 2A: Lap Swimming Guidelines - Wednesday, June 17

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Thursday: 5:30 – 8:45 a.m. and 4:15 – 9 p.m.
Fridays 5:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. and 4:15 – 6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: these hours of operation are subject to change.

  • • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening. The health screening tent is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into the building.
  • • A facemask that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times, except when swimming laps.

  • • All indoor group exercise classes will be held in Studio A.
  • • Please enter Studio A through the back staircase and exit the studio through the main door leading to the fitness center.
  • • There will be a maximum of 10 participants in each class. 
  • • Class attendees are encouraged to bring their own equipment, including bands and yoga mats. JCC equipment may be available but restricted during this phase.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

 

PHASE 2B: Outdoor Walking Path - Thursday, July 9

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 5:30 - 7:30 a.m., 4:30 - 9 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

• Please arrive early for your health screening. There are two health screening tents located on the JCC property. The main tent is located to the left of the building (as you enter the campus) next to the lake. When the main tent is not open, please use the health screening tent stationed to the back right of the building (as you enter the campus) by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct a health screening for each individual to grant access to the walking path.

• A face mask that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times.

• While programming is taking place on the softball field, please walk at your own risk.

 


 

PHASE 2B: Family Swim Reservations - Thursday, July 16

Mondays: 6:45 – 7:30 a.m., 7:45 – 8:30 a.m., 5:15 – 6 p.m., 8:15 – 8:45 p.m.
Tuesdays: 7:45 – 8:30 a.m., 8:15 – 8:45 p.m.
Wednesdays: 7:45 – 8:30 a.m., 5:15 – 6 p.m., 8:15 – 8:45 p.m.
Thursdays: 8:15 – 8:45 p.m.
Fridays: 4:15 – 5 p.m.
Saturdays: 12:45 – 1:30 p.m., 1:45 – 2:30 p.m., 2:45 – 3:30 p.m., 3:45 – 4:30 p.m.
Sundays: 12:45 – 1:30 p.m., 3:45 – 4:30 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: these hours of operation are subject to change.

  • • Please limit pool reservations to one per day per family with a maximum of 4 immediate family members (must include one adult 18+). No guests and no multiple families per reservation. Sessions will be limited to 45 minutes.
  • • Please take a shower prior to coming to the JCC and arrive in a swimsuit. You will be required to exit the pool area immediately after your swim session has ended.  
  • • Please bring your own water bottle; water fountains are unavailable until further notice.
  • • Please limit the belongings you bring to The J; locker access may be restricted until further notice.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

 

PHASE 2B: Tennis Court Reservations - Saturday, July 18

Hours of Operation:
Sunday: 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Monday: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday – Wednesday: 4:30 – 5:30 p.m., 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Thursday: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., 3:30 –4:30 p.m.

  • • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening. The health screening tent is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow access to the courts.
  • • After your health screening, you will be given the key for the tennis court. Members are required to lock the court and return the key to the health screening tent at the end of their reservation.
  • • A facemask that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times.
  • • Reservations are encouraged and will assure access to the tennis courts. Walk-ins will be placed on standby if the tennis courts are at capacity with no guarantee of admittance.  
  • • Please limit tennis court reservations to one per day per family with a maximum of 4 immediate family members (must include one adult 16+). No guests and no multiple families per reservation. Sessions will be limited to 60 minutes.
  • • Please bring your own water bottle; water fountains are unavailable until further notice.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for reservation no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the session.

 

PHASE 2B: Racquetball Court Reservations - Thursday, August 6

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Thursday: 4 – 4:45 p.m., 5 – 5:45 p.m., 6 – 6:45 p.m., 7 – 7:45 p.m., 8 – 8:45 p.m.
Friday: 4 -4:45 p.m., 5 – 5:45
Saturday and Sunday: 8 – 8:45 a.m., 9 – 9:45 a.m., 10 – 10:45 a.m., 11 – 11:45 a.m., 12 – 12:45 p.m., 1 – 1:45 p.m., 2 – 2:45 p.m., 3 – 3:45 p.m., 4 – 4:45 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: these hours of operation are subject to change.

  • • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your health screening prior to reservation.  The health screening tent is stationed to the back right (as you enter the campus) of the building by the loading dock. JCC personnel will conduct health screenings for each individual and allow entry into the building.
  • • Singles games (reservation requires two names) and family reservations for up to 4 members of the same family above the age of 8 years.
  • • A facemask that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times.
  • • Players are required to bring their own equipment; gloves and eye protection are strongly recommended.
  • • Proper athletic shoes must be worn on courts.  No street shoes please.  
  • • Members are asked to limit reservations to one per day.
  • • Please bring your own water; water fountains are closed.
  • • Please limit the belongings you bring to The J; lockers are not available.
  • • Reservations are encouraged and will  guarantee your reservation unto 10  minute past start time.   Walk ins will be placed on standby if both courts are reserved.
  • • A charge of $10 will be incurred for class no shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the class.

 

PHASE 2B: Upstairs Adult Locker Rooms - Thursday, September 17

  • • Please leave the area clean to be considerate of other members, including the sinks and the showers. 
  • • The use of cell phones are discouraged for privacy reasons and taking photos in the locker room is forbidden.
  • • Make sure to place your personal items in your locker. The JCC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 
  • • Face covering that completely covers the nose and mouth is required at all times unless in the shower.
  • • Please maintain at least 6 ft of social distance at all times.
  • • Showers will be open for member use during the following times:
    Monday – Thursday: 6:30 – 10 a.m. and 5:45 – 8 p.m.
    Friday: 6:30 – 10 a.m. and 4 – 5:30 p.m.
    Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. and 3 – 4:30 p.m.
  • • The Sauna and Steam Room will remain closed until further notice in accordance with The State of Connecticut Reopening Guidelines.
  • • Appropriate behavior in the locker room is a requirement for all members. Let us all strive to conduct ourselves in an orderly, courteous, dignified, and respectful manner.
  • • All JCC members age 13 - 16 must schedule a locker room orientation prior to their first visit to the locker room and fill out the Locker Room Code of Conduct Agreement. Please contact Lori Price at lprice@stamfordjcc.org to schedule your orientation and to submit your waiver.
