Pick-up pickleball games are self-managed. Please roll the nets back out to the hall at the end of the session. Balls available at the front desk. Ask us about pickleball lessons and social events for pickleballers!

Cancellation and Missed Reservation Policy:

If you are unable to attend an activity that you made a reservation for, you must cancel it through the member portal no later than two hours before the start of the session. In consideration of your fellow members, members who miss 2 reservations in 30 days or less will temporarily lose their ability to make reservations for 7 days. JCC Staff will rely on facility entry records, check-ins, and other data to verify reservation attendance. (Cancelling is easy!  1: Click here to log into your member portal. 2: Select “Upcoming Registered Events & Reservations” 3: Select the “Cancel” button next to the event you no longer plan to attend)

Pickleball Etiquette, Expectations, & Rules for Pick-up Play

  1. The Stamford JCC is a place to build community, stay healthy, and participate together in the activities we enjoy. Our community is built on mutual respect and understanding. All members are expected to participate in Pickleball with sportsman like conduct, including cooperation and courtesy; failure to do so may result in the suspension or termination of your membership.
  2. Reservations are strongly encouraged for pickleball activities, especially for those that typically reach maximum capacity such as evening and Saturday pickup play.
  3. Members must cancel their reservation if they are no longer able to attend. Failure to cancel your reservation two times in 30-days or less will result in a seven-day suspension from making reservations. Cancellation can be done in the member portal, or by contacting the JCC.
  4. All pickleball players are required to check-in at the front desk to verify attendance before accessing the Pickleball courts.
  5. Play is strictly limited to the maximum capacity of players available for that session, including those waiting for a game.
  6. All reservation holders must arrive within the first 15 minutes of the pickleball session. Arriving more than 15 minutes late will be considered a missed reservation and the player will join as a walk-in.
  7. Players without reservations may join games as a walk-in only if the maximum number of players has not been reached, or if players with reservations leave early. Walk-in players must check-in at the front desk to be added to the session list prior to joining play and may not join games for the first 15 minutes of the session.
  8. To maximize availability, making reservations for both Saturday sessions is prohibited.
  9. Games are assigned on a first-come, first-play basis. Players waiting the longest, have priority for the open spots in the next available game; this applies equally to players with reservations and those without reservations (see rule 7).
  10. Winning teams remain on the court (“two on – two off”). A winning team may choose to remain together or split up. Any one player may play a maximum of two consecutive games if others are waiting to play. Winning players may elect to leave the court after one game. Losing teams cycle off the court and back into the queue of waiting of players, even if they have only played one game.
  11. Games are self-officiated. JCC Pickleball adheres to the official USA Pickleball Rules. Game disputes result in re-play wherever disagreement persists and must be settled amicably.
  12. Modifying these rules is prohibited during pick-up play sessions.
  13. Notify JCC staff immediately if facilities, programs, or player conduct require our attention.

Thank you for your participation and cooperation!
