Pickleball Etiquette, Expectations, & Rules for Pick-up Play:

 The Stamford JCC is a place to build community, stay healthy, and participate together in the activities we enjoy. Our community is built on mutual respect and understanding. All members are expected to participate in Pickleball with sportsman like conduct, including cooperation and courtesy; failure to do so may result in the suspension or termination of your membership.

1. Reservations are strongly encouraged for pickleball activities, especially for those that typically reach maximum capacity such as evening and Saturday pickup play.
2. Members must cancel their reservation if they are no longer able to attend. Cancellation can be done in the member portal, or by contacting the JCC. Repeated failure to cancel your reservation may result in a temporary suspension from pickleball play.
3. Play is strictly limited to the maximum number allowed for that session. Players without reservations may join games only if the maximum number of players has not been reached, or if players with reservations leave early.
4. To maximize availability, making reservations for back-to-back sessions is prohibited.
5. Games are assigned on a first-come, first-play basis. Players waiting the longest, have priority for the open spots in the next available game; this applies equally to players with reservations and those without reservations who arrived before the maximum number of players has been reached.
6. In the case that a reservation holder arrives late, they will receive priority over those without a reservation for their first game.
7. Winning teams remain on the court (“two off – two on”). A winning team must split up after two consecutive wins. There is no limit on the number of consecutive games for any one player.
8. Games are self-officiated. JCC Pickleball adheres to the official USA Pickleball Rules. Game disputes result in re-play wherever disagreement persists and must be settled amicably.
9. Notify JCC staff if facilities, programs, or player conduct require our attention.
