Enjoy a fun and social open play session of Mah Jongg and Canasta! Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, all levels are welcome. (Note: no instruction or refreshments are provided for this session.)

Meet new friends, connect with old ones, and enjoy an evening of exciting gameplay and camaraderie.

Please note: At the end of the evening, players should please collect all JCC gaming materials (sets, cards, etc.) and return them to the front desk.

Mah Jongg

Mah Jongg: We play American Mah Jongg and follow the rules of the National Mah Jongg League. Players should bring their current National Mah Jongg League card (new players are welcome to borrow a JCC card for two sessions only). Mah Jongg sets are provided by the JCC, but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like.

Canasta

Canasta: We play Modern Canasta and follow the rules of the Women’s Cultural Alliance (WCA). Canasta cards and scorepads are provided by the JCC.  We have suggested special hands but ask each table to agree on special hands before the game commences.

 Please play with kindness, respect, and good sportsmanship so that everyone enjoys the experience.

Check-in & Cancellation Policy Reminder

We understand that plans can change; however, we arrange tables according to our registration numbers and other players count on everyone to attend. So we ask that you do your best to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. The JCC requires members to cancel an activity at least two hours prior to the start time if unable to attend. Failure to do so more than once may result in suspension of your registration privileges. 

Please be sure to check-in at the front desk before sitting at a table. Checking in is the best way to ensure you do not receive a cancellation violation notice in error. Thank you.
