My art is filled with interpretations of stories, personal traditions and symbols. Influences are drawn from oral histories, quilt making, my heritage and nature. Reimagining women’s empowerment, creation legends and my ancestry through often kaleidoscopic or quiltlikecompositions is inspiring. My visionscelebrates a sense of history and tell stories, as artifacts from my family often become focal points of my work.
create magic through juxtapositions and the unexpected. Prints and watercolors are among the artwork featured here. Rich layers of color, pattern and texture enhance my pieces, my photographs often becoming the basis of prints.
Imagery can include and combine: objects of contemporary life, vintage and modernfashion accessories, including purses andJudaic symbols such as water, flora andpomegranates. Images can be reinterpreted, using unexpected combinations of color, scale or pattern,creating distinctive work.
Much of my art practice is rooted in rich narratives from my culture. I am proud of my Judaism and create artwork that can be enjoyed with or without a Jewish background. It is important in these contentious times to give voice to the beauty, magic and equality in Judaism. The ugliness of antisemitism and bigotry in the world gives us pause on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we need courage to stand up for our beliefs at this juncture in history.
We all need a respite from the harshness of the world, to be reminded that our heterogenous and personal backgrounds can fill humanity with kindness and potential.

Gallery Opening: Tikkun Olam
Bringing together a stunning collection of prints, paintings, and calligraphy, this is a posthumous solo exhibition celebrating Mordechai Rosenstein, featuring rarely seen works spanning his incredible career. The exhibition highlights his unique philosophy on art and language.

For me, over the years, the letters have been a pathway to creating. It is as if they are doors which, when opened, lead to different ways of seeing them and the spaces they create. The areas around the letters are as important as the letters themselves in the composition, and actually create movement and a dynamic quality. As I learned from my teacher, Franz Kline, every area of the canvas is of equal importance to the creation. The loading of the letterforms with design is something new for me, and I find it exciting and fulfilling.
