Join us for the opening of Soulscape, a solo exhibition by Carolyn Childs. This contemplative show invites viewers to immerse themselves in encaustic wax landscapes inspired by the beaches of Fairfield County. Through her intricate use of layers of wax and prints, Childs creates an experience that encourages reflection and connection with the sublime.
Carolyn Childs, a Connecticut native, is an artist known for her calming, mindful paintings that explore themes of tranquility, nature, and introspection. Her work creates a serene escape, inviting emotional connection and reflection. Featured in galleries, her art captures the essence of serenity, captivating collectors.
Encaustic is a painting technique using beeswax, resin, and pigments. Each layer of wax is melted and fused to the substrate with heat. Carolyn expertly controls the heat and manipulates the tools to create her sublime scenes.
Childs is a certified K-12 art teacher with a BFA in Creative Arts Therapy and an MA in Art Education Leadership, specializing in mindfulness and art.
