Founded on and guided by Jewish heritage, culture and traditions, The Stamford JCC provides a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing community for all people to help enrich their lives. The Stamford JCC welcomes a diverse community through its physical doors and throughout its programs each day. When planning an event involving food, please be sensitive to the dietary needs and preferences of those attending, as well as food allergies. Accommodations should be arranged in advance and carried out with respect and discretion. In all of our programs, both on and off the Newfield Campus, please adhere to the following Food Service Policy:
JCC Programs: Organized events, classes, or services managed by The JCC or a program facilitation partner aimed at fostering engagement and enrichment; members and program participants bringing food for sharing as part of a program or food provided by The JCC. Vegetarian, Dairy or Kosher style* is acceptable. When providing food, strive to include a variety of food choices that cater to different dietary needs, including Kosher, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-free. Please note that certain programs may have more restrictive food policies in place (ex. Kosher, nut-free, etc.).
Development Events: Fundraising events for the benefit of The JCC hosted on or off-site. Kosher style, with Kosher and vegetarian options always available. Kosher supervision is not required but is an option for any caterer. Additionally, strive to include a variety of food choices that cater to different dietary needs, such as vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-free.
Private Events: Members and guests renting the facility and catering food for a private event with or without JCC kitchen use. Please adhere to Kosher style and vegetarian food and menu choices only. The JCC will not require Kosher supervision but is an option for any caterer or customer.
Personal or Individual Family: Members, staff and facility-users bringing food for self-use. You may bring foods that meet your personal needs and likes, while being considerate of the restrictions of others. Please note that certain programs where individual food is brought (ex. lunch in Early Childhood programs) may have more restrictive food policies in place (ex. Kosher style, nut-free, etc.).
