In this class, your child will get to explore the movement of their bodies with their adult. We will have fun doing some stretching in some yoga-style poses, getting to know where our body parts are, and working on balancing and coordination. We will also move our body in some dance games and tumbling exercises all to improve on our gross motor skills. (This class is recommended for children that are walking.)

In a fun and supportive atmosphere, the teacher will lead students through a traditional ballet class structure. Class consists of a warm-up – incorporating fundamental ballet stretches, ballet positions, and technique practiced at the barre – and progresses to center work, across the floor exercises, and the basics of jumps, leaps & turns. The children will get an introduction to ballet terminology, all the while exploring their physical creativity through creative imagery, sing-along songs and classical music, dance props, and short choreographic combinations. Other skills practiced in this class: identifying body parts, musicality, level changes, balancing and movement coordination, shape formation, pathways, leading and following, and creative expression (This is a parent-transitional class. Progression through this level is determined by the advancement in pointe work and ballet technique, guided by faculty recommendations.
