Jillian Hetherman is a musical theatre writer, director-choreographer, and educator based in Connecticut. She graduated from the Marlboro Institute at Emerson College, earning her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in Writing Musical Theatre and Film, and a minor in History.
As an educator, Jillian believes in giving students the tools and encouragement to grow a little bit more than they think they can. As a professor once told her, there is no "right" or "wrong" in theater, there is only "interesting." This philosophy encapsulates Jillian's commitment to fostering innovation, experimentation, and a comfortable space for young performers to find their voices.
Theater is about connection and examining the human experience. In our classes, students will learn to connect with one another, create new worlds and characters, and expand their skillsets. They will learn to work together as an ensemble, while forging the courage to become independent performers. Jillian believes in cultivating joy, collaboration, and passion in the rehearsal room, and translates in her performers onstage. Welcoming a newcomer into theater is one of her favorite parts of the creative process, and she is excited to meet the young stars of the Stamford JCC!

A professional touring musician for nearly two decades, Mike has devoted his career to spreading positivity through music. His passion for performance carries over into his teaching, where he strives to inspire the same energy and joy in his students.
For Mike, teaching music isn't just about mastering an instrument or learning theory—it's about fostering a lifelong love of learning, creativity, and collaboration. Now based in Stamford, Mike is excited to connect with the local community through the JCC and looks forward to sharing his love of music with new students.
